Conferences like this one are incredible opportunities for graduate students to interact with their peers, to learn about recent discoveries and state-of-the art technologies, to acquire new knowledge and skills, and also to meet future employers! ICoMST 2012 provides great opportunities for graduates students, such as the Preconference Graduate Course in Meat Science, a Student competition where the best oral and poster presentations will be recognized by Awards of Excellence, and Travel Scholarship awards.
A mixer for students, to provide an opportunity to get to know colleagues studying at universities worldwide, will be held Monday, Aug. 13 from 12:00 h to 13:00 h in Le Portage Room.

From August 9 to 11, 2012, 50 privileged graduate students will have the opportunity to attend a course lectured by world leading experts.
Registration is now opened to all professionals with training or experience. There are still 16 spots open. This is an ideal course for employees’ training!
This course is made possible thanks to te contribution of the American Meat Science Association.
The best student oral and poster presentations will earn specials awards!

The International Congress of Meat Science and Technology recognizes that students from around the world are the future leaders in Meat Science. To further this ideal, ICoMST 2012 has offered two scholarships valued at CAD$2000 each to assist outstanding graduates students enrolled full-time in a graduate program related to meat science from countries other than the US and Canada with the cost of travel to attend the conference. Applications were evaluated based on student academic/research achievement as well as need.
The committee is now pleased to announce the name of this year’s Travel Award winners.
